The Making of the iPhone

The Making of the iPhone is a comic I made while experimenting with storytelling, letting multiple models write an entire comic. I used one model to do research on how the iPhone was made, another to plan a narrative story, then one to plan comic panels for it, and another to actually illustrate it.

It’s far from perfect and lacks the cohesion a human illustrator and writer would bring: the sense of pacing, the judgment about which moments matter most, and the small details that carry a story from one page to the next. But it was an experiment to see how modern technologies could tell stories about their technological predecessors.
